"The day before we were due to be evicted we got a phone call........"
We were issued with an eviction notice by our mortgage lender with only a couple of weeks to go. I contacted an advisor after seeing an ad in the daily paper and he visited me the next day. After explaining our situation he promised us that they could help and I applied to the court for more time.
Our advisor came with me armed with a solicitors letter of intention to buy, however the judge would not agree and we had just a few days left, But it was still time enough, our advisor told me. The day before we were due to be evicted we got a phone call and drove to our advisors' solicitors to sign contracts to exchange on the day of eviction. The solicitor phoned us and told us that the bank had postponed the order for 28 days.
During the next few weeks we came across loads of problems mainly due to my being bankrupt, nevertheless, completion happened thanks to tireless work by our advisors. "We still live in our house, we did not want to leave" so nothing has changed and we are very very happy with how things have worked out. I think our case was the most difficult ever but they didn't give up.* * *
